We are not required to fill out any forms or file any paperwork. The doctor submits his claim to our primary insurance carrier, which pays 80 percent of the bill and forwards the claim for the remaining 20 percent to our secondary insurer.
In a few weeks, we get the paperwork from both carriers showing that all charges have been paid and we owe nothing. I do not know how the process could be made better. It's perfect!
Do you want the names of these insurance carriers? The primary insurer is Medicare, and the secondary is Tricare. Medicare is managed by the Social Security Administration, and Tricare by the Department of Defense.
This is the kind of insurance we all can have with a public option. It's a right all Americans deserve.
