Brooke Point High School to host career night Date published: 10/20/2009
BY JEFF BRANSCOME
Stafford County students in grades seven through 10 can sign up now for career night Nov. 19 at Brooke Point High School. Check-in is at 6 p.m. and the event runs 6:45-8:30. Students can register at tiny.cc/CareerNight or by picking up forms in their middle or high school counseling offices. Students have until Nov. 12 to register for Career Exploration Night. Space is limited. Administrators will choose three career sessions for each student, based on their interests. The division is encouraging one parent per family to attend. Parents and students will be divided into separate tracks during the event. Top professionals in a variety of fields will lead three 25-minute sessions for students. In other news, Stafford schools are hosting a blood drive tomorrow in memory of former finance director Shirley Heim, who passed away Oct. 7. It will be held at the Parks and Recreation building next to the division's central office at 29 Stafford Ave., 6 a.m.-5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, go to givelife.org and enter "Heim" as the sponsor code.
