Thomas W. Jackson
Thomas Willie Jackson Sr., 79, of Colonial Beach passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Covington, Ala., to Jessie and Needa Carrell Jackson. He worked as a sheet metal worker and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union Local 100 in Suitland, Md. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Edythe Jackson, as well as a son, Thomas Willie Jackson Jr. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Jackson of King George County, Donna Lambrose of Spotsylvania County, and Janet L. Jackson of Baytown, Texas. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and his "lady friend," Hattie Bolton of King George. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23.
