Osborn, Snellings: Capable candidates

I am writing to express my support for Mark Osborn and Gary Snellings in their bids for Stafford County Board of Supervisors.

While serving on Fredericksburg City Council, I had the opportunity to work with these gentlemen on regional issues as they represented the Stafford County board.

While solutions to these issues were never easy, discussions with these gentlemen were always thoughtful and civil.

For example, in 2005-2006, Fredericksburg negotiated with several counties, including Stafford, to develop an easement on the city lands along the Rappahannock and Rapidan rivers.

There were times when the negotiations were difficult and contentious. Mr. Osborn and Mr. Snellings both offered constructive dialogue during the process.

Mark Osborn and Gary Snellings are capable candidates. I believe they will serve thoughtfully and with civility. These are admirable qualities in today's political climate.

Billy Withers

Withers put more effort into this letter than he did all 4 years on City Council (posted by tpifos , Oct. 23, 2009 4:40 pm)    0 likes

My take is that Snellings is anything BUT slow growth.

Both Snellings and Osborn Opposed the Rappahannock River easement. They were not even on the Board in 2006.
