Thanks for support for JM fundraiser
On behalf of the committee representing the Mark Newton Homecoming Pickin' Party, I would like to thank those who supported the fundraiser during the past 15 months for James Monroe High School. This support culminated in our Sept. 19 festival. The list of the companies and individuals who generously provided donations, services, and time is lengthy. There is not enough room to recognize everyone, though their contributions should not be viewed as anything less. We would like to acknowledge those who were instrumental in getting our fundraiser in motion: Mayor Tom Tomzak, the City Council, and all branches of city government; Bob Burch, city schools operation manager; the Fredericksburg School Board; Deneal Helms, The Free Lance-Star, WFLS 93.3, and frederickburg.com; and Cox Communications. We also want to thank state Sen. Edd Houck; Glenn Nicholls Sr.; Rocky Sizemore of Fredericksburg Distributors and Yuengling; EDA/Jump Start; Ron and Nancy Hicks; Joe Wilson, PermaTreat; Ronnie James, Homewood Suites; Olde Virginia Catering; Ed Whelan, Inn at the Olde Silk Mill; FastSigns; Jay Flippo, Lasting Impressions Landscaping Contractors; Charles and Rich McDaniel and the Hilldrup Cos.; Warren Cox, Cox & Johnson Insurance; Billingsley Printing; MJ Printers; Bran Dillard, Picker's Supply; Julie Ricketts; Johnny Johnson; and all the James Monroe alumni who represented the cause. Barry Surles Stafford
A huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible. It was truly a fantastic day. I hope this can become an annual event! Thank you, Barry, for all that you did!
