"Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days" is the newest game in the incredible Kingdom Hearts series for the Nintendo DS and DSi.
This game puts a whole new spin on the series, which combines the characters from Disney with those from game developer Square Enix's Final Fantasy series.
There are two major modes on this game: a story mode and a mission mode.
In story mode, one gets to battle against enemies while learning about Roxas, a new member of Organization XIII whose weapon, the Keyblade, has the power to release hearts.
Another new Organization member on the quest is a girl named Xion, who, after a tough mission, shows that she can also use the Keyblade. She reveals more secrets as the game advances.
In mission mode, you can play as any of the characters in the game in different missions of story mode--and to add some fun, you can compete against friends or have them help you beat tough missions.
Each of the missions is different--and some require special rankings that can be acquired in story mode.
Once you beat the game, new special features are added, such as a theater mode, where you can re-watch all of the scenes viewed in the game already.
For fans of the earlier games, "358/2 Days" adds the whole back story of what happened between "Kingdom Hearts" and "Kingdom Hearts II," while those games' protagonist, Sora, was sleeping.
The new characters, along with some of the old and tons of action, make for a great new chapter in the series.
It has enough violence to keep all fans entertained-- even those who don't think that Disney is violent--but not so much that it goes beyond Disney standards into pure cruelty. It is a perfect buy for anyone looking for some good video game entertainment.
