Edith Margaret Acors, 82, of Spotsylvania County died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Carriage Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Acors and his wife, Georgia, John Acors and his wife, Liz, Vernell Dunavant and her husband, Eugene, Roddie Acors and his wife, Kellie, and Margaret Ann Holladay and her husband, Farley, all of Spotsylvania; 10 grandchildren: Dwayne Holladay and his wife, Carla, Darrell Holladay and his wife, Kay, John Acors and his wife, Sheri, Melanie Clegg and her husband, Robert, Matthew Acors, Michael Dunavant and his wife, Amanda, Roddie Acors, Nicki Bicknell and her husband, Jason, Cathy Acors and her fiance, Frank Weaver, and Anna Bear; and 12 great-grandchildren: Derrik Holladay, Devin Holladay, Brandy Holladay, Corbin Holladay, Abby Acors, Shelby Clegg, Joey "William" Clegg, Madison "Paige" Dunavant, Chloe Dunavant, Leah Bicknell, Lauren Acors and Joe Seboria.
Mrs. Acors also is survived by her sister, Bessie Ann Hart Morefield and her husband, Charles; two aunts, Kathleen Howard and her husband, Russell, and Mary Ellen Dittman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Acors was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Acors Jr; her parents, Everett Conway and Edith Margarette Clark Hart; and three grandchildren, Joey Acors, Jonathan Dunavant and Carie Holladay.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with Sam McCracken and the Rev. John C. Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Holladay, Darrell Holladay, Johnny Acors, Michael Dunavant, Roddie Acors Jr., Matthew Acors, Eddie Steckler and Kenny Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Bicknell, Frank Weaver, Robert Clegg and Dave Musick.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.
