Burrell, Tate lead W&L to key district victory

Visiting Rappahannock closed within 19-13 late in the fourth quarter, but Bryan Burrell broke loose for a 56-yard scoring run on the first play of the fourth quarter to help Washington & Lee get a 32-13 Northern Neck District win last night.

After a scoreless first quarter, Jamar Tate scored three times in the second quarter--twice on runs and the third on a reception from Burrell--as the Eagles (7-1, 3-0) jumped ahead 19--0 at the half.

W&L visits unbeaten Essex next Saturday in a battle for first place in the district standings.
