Quantico to hold more noisy exercises

Area residents may notice more noise from training at Quantico Marine Base this week.

Ground munitions training will be held today through Wednesday from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations from explosions, base officials say.

Wittman to meet with vets, military families

Rep. Rob Wittman hosts a town hall-style meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10 with veterans and military families.

The session, from 7- 9 p.m., will be at VFW Post 3103 on Princess Anne Street.

Wittman, the 1st District Republican who lives in Montross, is a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
