Stafford County fire marshals search for the cause of a fire that destroyed a home |
A family of three was displaced yesterday after an early morning fire at their Aquia Harbour home.
Stafford fire and rescue responded to the home at 3237 Titanic Drive about 4:30 a.m. and found the two-story house ablaze.
A smoke detector had alerted the residents to the fire, according to fire and rescue spokesman Lt. Mark D. Stone.
Firefighters rescued a small dog, and none of the occupants or firefighters was injured in the blaze, according to Stone's report.
Fire and rescue units from Quantico provided mutual aid during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Stafford County fire marshals.
A preliminary estimate of the damage to the house and contents was $450,000, Stone reported.
