Why is Viewpoints Editor Karen Owen so angry? ["Big crybabies are trying to distract us," Oct. 25].
All the major networks seem aligned with the liberal message, except one. And now the White House is at "war" with that network because it has the temerity to offer another side or opinion. It reminds us of the Nixon White House and the Washington Post, right?

With respect to the economic "meltdown," both national parties were at fault. One encouraged banks to issue high-risk mortgages, and the other did not stop it. We all know which is which.
And Wall Street took off and packaged those toxic mortgages into financial packages that were traded globally and wrecked the economy. At least Alan Greenspan was honest and admitted he made a mistake. We won't hear that from our elected representatives.
It was also interesting to read the Oct. 25 article about how Norway will release official records showing the annual income and overall wealth of nearly every taxpayer in the country for 2008.
Columnist Jan Omdahl is quoted as saying, "Isn't this how a social democracy ought to work, with openness, transparency, and social equality as ideals?" Is this to be in our future?
I am not comforted by Ms. Owen's dismissing, as idiots, those who opine that the current administration is attempting
I have learned when people resort to name calling, they generally have no argument.
