Man held in home holdup in Stafford
Man arrested in home-invasion case
Date published: 11/4/2009

BY KEITH EPPS

A Washington man has been charged in connection with an Oct. 26 home invasion at a North Stafford apartment complex.

Timothy Sylvester Williams, 20, is charged with armed burglary, robbery, abduction and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was arrested yesterday.

According to police, two men went into a home in Garrison Woods that afternoon and tied up a woman and her two young daughters with duct tape.

They took items, including jewelry and electronics, and left.

Williams was not one of the two men who actually broke into the home, Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said.

But he was driving the vehicle that witnesses saw leaving the apartment complex after the robbery, police said.

The car was stopped in Prince William County by police there, and some of the items taken in the robbery were recovered.

Police initially did not tie Williams to the robbery, but Stafford Detective Chris Cameron's investigation has since resulted in his arrest.

Police are still looking for the two men who actually committed the robbery. One of them had previously been identified as Daquan Fortman, but police have learned that name was fictitious.

That suspect is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with dreadlocks or cornrows. The second suspect was described as a taller dark-skinned black male with a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cameron at 540/658-4711 or Crime Solvers at 540/658-2020.
