LOW board's poor planning costs us

I want my neighbors at Lake of the Woods to know I am going to buy myself a new car. The problem is that even though I have wanted this car for years, I have not saved any money for it, and I don't want to take out a loan.

Here is my solution to the problem: I want my fellow property owners to pay for my new car.

I am requesting that every lot owner in Lake of the Woods send me $50. This will cover the cost of the car and the taxes and leave a little extra money for upgrades to the car and gasoline.

I will need the money within 30 days because I want the car as a Christmas gift to myself. I think I deserve it.

On a more serious and less sarcastic note, stand up and let your voice be heard at Lake of the Woods!

This issue of the dam has been going on for years, and we are expected to pay at least part of the $1,200 fee in six weeks.

This special assessment is due on the same date our personal property taxes are due in Orange County, and 25 days before Christmas.

A little more notice would have been nice. This couldn't come at a worse time for many people.
