The Rappahannock Area Health District received H1N1 vaccine yesterday, and some of it was destined for children's arms and noses last night.
The health district received 3,200 doses of both the injectable and nasal-mist varieties yesterday.
Last night, the vaccine went to Massaponax High in Spotsylvania County and Mountain View High in Stafford County. Today, it is being given at King George Middle School and Holy Cross Academy in Stafford.
A clinic last night at Lafayette Upper Elementary in Fredericksburg was supplied from an earlier shipment. In the Three Rivers Health District, Colonial Beach Elementary will offer nasal-mist flu vaccine for its K-7 students beginning at
"The schools really need to be given a tremendous amount of credit here," said Dr. John Petrasky, the Rappahannock region's health director. "The whole goal is to get this into kids ASAP."
