In April, Rep. James Moran introduced H.R. 2175 (the Families for Erectile Dysfunction Advertising Decency Act), which would prohibit broadcasting of any advertisement for erectile dysfunction medication between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
There is something else that needs to be prohibited, and that is the advertisement for horror and violent movies or TV shows during sporting events. As a father of three boys all under 8 years old, it is becoming hard for me to show them sports on television without having to constantly tell them to cover their eyes during commercial breaks. Because without fail, especially on the Fox network, there are commercials about shows and movies that are extremely disturbing to young eyes--for instance, "Fringe," "House," and "Bones," to name few, and other R-rated horror movies. The other networks are guilty of this, too. The only network that doesn't do this is TBS. I don't go to a G-rated movie and see R-rated trailers before the movie. So why should I have to watch R-rated trailers on my television at 1 p.m. on I would prefer the erectile dysfunction commercials over the violent I don't object to the programming Mark DiFilippo Spotsylvania
WHY???Please tell me...my inquiring mind wants to know! I just got my wireless kindle..wow..NO commercials! And the picture is always perfect
As the police chief in N.J. said, I never saw a book that cost a girl her virginity. The same with those male enhancement ads. I honestly cannot imagine a youngster, if he is allowed to watch programs with these commercials, being unduly affected by those ads. Either he won't even understand the ad (most probable outcome) or he may ask, Daddy, do you really need this stuff? Ain't Mom still sexy?
This isn'tt the same as watching the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Kids are more immune to this than daddys think.
I'm sick of that one, too. Stupid guys singing in pirate
outfits, driving crummy cars, living at girlfriend's parents
house, riding rollercoasters or wearing green tights at a
renaissance festival imploring me to get my credit reports (I
HAVE) for FREE (IT'S NOT!). Stop these. Stop the gekko
from GEICO and the ditz from Progressive, too. (NUTZ- I
just gave them all a free plug.)
Have you ever read a book to your children or taken them outside to play sports, or do you sit them in front of the television from 6am to 10pm? People like this continuously try to blame others for their failures in parenting.
Actually, there are only three erectile dysfunction drugs, I
believe: viagra, cialis and levitra. What I'm seeing a LOT of
are snake oil (herbal) remedies like extenze making
promises (bigger) that can't be kept, so I resent them even
scamming suckers and selling them useless junk. Te FDA
and the government should run these companies out of
business. ( Here, I have a guaranteed weight loss pill for
you, America. Can I run a bunch of TV ads?) P.S. I rarely
watch commercials and I LOVE my 'MUTE' button.
