The Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District will offer free swine flu FluMist vaccine tomorrow at Liberty High School in Bealeton (8 a.m.-noon) and the Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper (3-7 p.m.)

The clinics are only for healthy children and young adults 2-24 and healthy individuals 24-49 who share a household with infants up to 6 months of age.

Mist vaccine is not appropriate for all, including children under 2 and adults 50 and older; pregnant women; anyone with a weakened immune system; anyone with a long-term health problem such as heart disease, kidney or liver disease; lung disease; metabolic disease such as diabetes, asthma, anemia or other blood disorders; and children under 5 with asthma or episodes of wheezing during the past year.

Those with certain muscle or nerve disorders (such as cerebral palsy) that can lead to breathing or swallowing problems, those in close contact with a person with a severely weakened immune system, and children on long-term aspirin treat-ment also should not take the mist.
