Sharon C. Deane

Sharon Carmichael Deane, 57, of Spotsylvania County passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at VCU Medical Center, Richmond.

Mrs. Deane was born in Quantico on April 25, 1952, to Haskell and Hilda Carmichael, who predeceased her.

Mrs. Deane was a beautician in the area since her graduation from Stafford High School. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Chancellor; she also was past member and officer of BPOE Lodge 875, serving as a chaplain.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was totally devoted to her grandchildren and spent her life serving others.

Survivors include her loving husband, Joseph Deane; son Edward Jett and his wife, Michelle; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Reagan Jett; five brothers, Wayne Carmichael of Fredericksburg, Dick Carmichael of Chancellor, Tommy Carmichael of Fredericksburg, Joe Carmichael of Hartwood, Tony Carmichael of Chancellor, and William Carmichael of Spotsylvania; a sister, Geraldine Reynolds of Meadows of Dan; and her former mother-in-law and special friend, Pearl Jett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 7310-A Old Plank Road, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Steve Hay, officiating.
