Spotsylvania man gets five years for exposure
Man facing 5-year prison term for exposing himself.

A Spotsylvania County jury this week recommended a five-year prison term for a man who exposed himself while driving on Interstate 95.

Archie Nathaniel Tyler, 30, of Spotsylvania was convicted of indecent exposure. It was a felony charge because Tyler had two previous misdemeanor indecent exposure convictions.

A jury Tuesday deliberated less than 20 minutes before recommending the maximum penalty. Tyler will be formally sentenced on March 23.

According to the evidence presented by prosecutor Amy Harper, a New Jersey woman was heading north on I-95 April 22 between Thornburg and Massaponax.

She was in the center lane when Tyler pulled up in the left lane and starting blowing his horn at her.

When the woman looked over, Harper said, Tyler had thrust his hips into the air and exposed himself.

The women said she pulled off the highway onto U.S. 1 and the suspect followed her. She got his license number and called 911 as he passed by.

She later positively identified Tyler as the man who she'd seen on the interstate.

Harper said Tyler, who was represented by defense attorney Ron Hur, requested a jury trial.
