Jack H. Oliff
Jack Harvey Oliff Sr., 83, of Montross went to be with his lord and savior Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, after having a massive heart attack at his home. He served in the Army from 1948 to 1951 and reached the rank of tech sergeant. He was a longtime employee of Virginia Lumber Co. in St. Leonard, Md. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; seven children, William Holden of the home, Michael J. Oliff of Hollywood, Md., Jack H. Oliff Jr. and wife Donna of Owens, Md., John S. Oliff and wife Laura of St. Leonard, Nancy J. Zebron of Linthicum, Md., Melinda A. Kirby and husband Michael of Prince Frederick, Md., and Joseph A. Oliff and wife Alice of Huntingtown, Md.; eight grandchildren, Billy, Reza, Monica, David, Debbie, Cullen, Greg and Amber; and two great-granddaughters, Bailey and Carley. Also surviving are three brothers, James and Charles Oliff of Montross and William Oliff of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and two sisters, Althea Parr of Charlottesville and Mary Sanford of Colonial Beach. A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Interment will follow in Ephesus Christian Church cemetery, Foneswood. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home.
