Joyce L. Kush
Joyce L. Kush, 77, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at her home after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Born in Williamsburg, she grew up in Ansted, W.Va., where she graduated from high school in 1950. She moved to the Washington area and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she retired after 32 years of service. Mrs. Kush was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church in Oxon Hill, Md., where she was the first woman deacon. She loved cats, enjoyed needlepoint, crochet and traveling. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Edmund Kush; her son, Frank Kush and his wife, Denise; her sister, Joanne Young; and A funeral will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 19, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the funeral home.
