"Twilight" fans have been counting down to the release of the first sequel, "New Moon," in theaters today.
But, "Twilight" lovers, while staring at your picture of Edward Cullen, or as you sit down to read "New Moon" for the third time, don't forget about the unbelievable soundtrack.
The "New Moon" motion picture soundtrack totally surpasses the "Twilight" soundtrack, without a doubt. On the "Twilight" soundtrack, one heard the voices of Paramore, Linkin Park and The Black Ghosts. The new track listing is definitely a lot more pleasing to the ears.
With bands like Death Cab for Cutie, OK Go, Anya Marina and The Killers, the album is filled with passionate, talented artists. But thankfully, Muse is on this album too, due to their immense inspiration to "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer.
The music has a darker sound overall compared to the "Twilight" soundtrack, but that would be expected due to the plot of "New Moon." The songs are, overall, rather slow and smooth, making it perfect for a rainy day--how fitting, considering the setting of the phenomenal books in the climate-challenged Pacific Northwest.
The album definitely will make one excited for the movie, as if that is even necessary. "Twilight" seems to be the one motion picture that can't disappoint. From nail-biting tension in the books, to the talented, sexy actors in the films, and now, to the addicting music of the soundtracks, it seems people behind the series can do no wrong.
