Alexandra Campbell-Forte of Culpeper won the women's overall title in the recently completed 2009 Virginia Triathlon Series.
The series consisted of 20 races held around the state, with over 12,000 registered to compete. Athletes had to compete in at least five events.
Debi Bernardes of King George was second in the women's standings. Other area athletes who placed included:
MALEOverall: 2. Justin Riddle (King George); 4. Fred Cook (King George).
FEMALE 50-54: 1. Julia Peck (Culpeper);
Athena: 2. Sherry Dowdy (Fredericksburg).
