Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean, authorettes Date published: 11/21/2009
SYRACUSE --On the very day that Sarah Palin set out on a multi-city book tour to promote her upcoming bestseller, "Going Rogue," U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) insisted that she "has the ability to draw crowds. AndThe fly in the buttermilk, as we Texans like to say, is that Chaffetz wasn't talking about the former Republican candidate for vice president and potential front-runner for the party's top spot in 2012. Instead, he was referencing Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California forced to abdicate her throne after a one-woman sex tape surfaced. Too hot for the usual cable outlets, her performance, to put it gently, belied the clean-cut image associated with our pre-eminent beauty pageant. Incredibly, Prejean likewise has a book of her own to hawk, "Still Standing," published by the conservative Regnery house. She's been doing just that in an intriguing if unconscious competition with Palin. The former Alaskan governor won an interview with one of the nation's top women in modern media, Oprah Winfrey. Great! But Prejean got herself booked with Barbara Walters. Awesome! All of which raises an inevitable question for armchair philosophers: Can the fact that these two physically attractive women are now competing in the wide world of broadcast journalism be mere coincidence? Or should we get the chilly-willies and assume it must be fate--for us as for them? The whole world is watching! If that's the case, will their paths cross on mutual roads to destiny? Think of it this way: Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean have so much in common that, if it weren't for the age difference, we might assume they were twin sisters separated at birth. The women resemble each other not only in the great-looks department, as well as in sharing the wacky reality of putting out self-defensive books with interchangeable titles, but in many other regards. Both openly state their commitment to conservative causes while operating in open defiance of what most of us revere as traditional American values.
The same could be said about Barrack Obama-that he is not who he said he is and is "manufactured" by the political machine. Personally, I couldn't care less what W thinks of her, he proved himself to be a total idiot during the course of his 8 year presidency. But the way I see it, BO does nothing but photo ops, trips and speeches. He's not accomplishing much. If it things don't improve, I'd be willing to give Sarah a chance-just like I gave BO a chance...
I said that with Reagan, and "bing", then Bush 43, "bang", and now Palin - the intelligence factor just keeps dropping. Bush said she is an idiot. And idiot calling an idiot an idiot (that makes her a "double idiot"). Karl Rove has got to be working this one - the "golly schucks" routine, the "hard working American" (hip waders, boat, mud flats), the simple one liners "death panel". It's an another complete manufacturing of someone not who she really is. Sadly, Americans eat this up. We're doomed.
That's her right. She resigned for many reasons, one of which was to explore the possibility of running for president (though she's not really saying that). At least she had the common decency to not let the people of Alaska suffer while she pursued other interests while holding office, like too many have. Tim Kaine has done next to nothing for at least the past year, because he's too busy trying to pursue other interests. Too bad HE didn't resign when he took the helm at the DNC.
next time at bat...the vote will not be FOR anyone...it will be against Obama and his liberty destroying policies. We do not want to be like sweden or russia or zimbabwe or even hawaii, that faraway country that ostensibly is his birthplace..
(yes I know..don't belabor it)
Really....libs are NOT afraid of Sarah Palin. We really do hope she gets the GOP nomination. Even better if Beck gets the VP nomination. GO Sarah!
