"As you are reading this, I am already on my next Journey.
"I passed away at home in Stafford County on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at age 53 from pancreatic cancer.
"I was born June 15, 1956, in Denver, Colo., to Doug and Treva Moore of Buena Vista, Colo.
"As I traveled in this journey, I found my true love, my wife. Surviving me is Carolyn K. Gilles Moore of Stafford, so beautiful in so many ways, heart and soul. We were married for a wonderful 23 years.
"I served our great nation in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. I am very proud that I was able to serve her. May God bless those who have served and are serving now as this is the supreme nation on Earth, thanks to their dedication and sacrifices.
"Most recently, I was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation as an operations manager, working with a great team in Prince William County.
"This journey I was blessed to have married into the most wonderful family, the Gilles family of Madison, Ind. They are truly going to be missed and always loved.
"Traveling the world so much, I have found many dear friends that I proudly call family, and you know who you are. I thank you for letting me be part of your family.
"I also leave on this journey brothers Allen (Sally) in Idaho and Gary Moore, and my sister Brenda Kochevar (Mike), both of Buena Vista, Colo. We never said it enough growing up but I love you all. We are and were blessed. Several nieces, nephews and godchildren in Colorado, Indiana, Virginia, Idado, Texas, Kentucky and Germany. Clint Moore, of Salida, Colo., my son, you were always loved and will always be loved by me. Daily I thought of you and wished things would have been different.
"I ask that as I depart that anybody who reads this go outside, stop and sit, listen, and enjoy what we have been given; remember something good and positive; smile and be at peace. Stop and smell the roses and all that the Lord has given us; never have a bucket list full of things you want to do; start working on it now as life is too short, be able to turn the bucket over and start adding wonderful memories.
"I ask that you come to celebrate my life during this voyage. I look forward to crossing paths with you on our next journey."
