Timothy Wayne "T.J." Sears Jr., 25, of Spotsylvania County died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009.

T.J. loved being with his girlfriend, Tara, and their son, Anthony. He was an avid sports fan: he loved the Redskins; basketball, where he held a record for shooting three-pointers; and Texas Hold 'Em.

He was a 2002 graduate of Spotsylvania High School. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Barry Thomas of Spotsylvania; his girlfriend, Tara Rose and their son, Anthony Clay Sears; his brother, Tyler Thomas of Spotsylvania; his sister, Amanda Sears and her children, Kayleigh and Cameron Sears, all of Spotsylvania; his grandparents, Joan and Kenneth Hilburn Sr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; aunt and uncle Karen and Michael Trivett of Spotsylvania; his uncle, Kenneth Hilburn Jr. and his aunt, Virginia Freeman of Colonial Beach; cousins Mikie and Krissy Trivett, and Avery Hilburn; and his father, Timothy W. Sears Sr. of Fredericksburg.

A funeral will be held at noon, Saturday Nov. 28, at Spotsylvania Church of God, with Pastor Donald Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 27, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for his 6-year-old son, Anthony.

Donations may be made to the Anthony Clay Sears Trust Fund, Carter Bank, 1204 Bragg Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
