Ms. Lorraine Dawson Lilly, 77, of Chantilly passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at her daughter's home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born March 3, 1932, in Fauquier County, she was a daughter of the late George Henry Dawson and Stella Pearl Allison Dawson.
Lorraine worked for more than 30 years for AT&T, retiring as a supervisor. She loved country music, dancing and travel, but foremost her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Potosky and husband Bryant of Chantilly, and Brenda Heier and husband Jerry of Lake Anna; two stepchildren, Buddy Lilly of Chantilly and Patty Ondo of California.
She is also survived by three sisters, Gertrude Callahan of Jacksonville, Fla.; Cynthia Wagoner and husband Syd of Fairfax, and Doris Allder and husband James of Winchester; her brothers Bill Dawson, and wife Lessie of Leesburg, and J.D. Dawson and wife Marchel of Winchester; three granddaughters, Lori Knight, Misty Haymaker and Melissa Potosky; two great-grandsons, Devon Caylor and Brendan Knight; plus 12 nieces and nephews.
Ms. Lilly was predeceased by brother Claude Dawson; sister Alice Jefferies; a brother-in-law, William Callahan; two nephews, Greg Follin and Keith Callahan; and niece Courtney Dawson.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, Va. 20175; where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ralph Buddenhagen officiating. Interment will be follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hamilton.
