Catherine S. Davis
Catherine Shackelford Davis, 91, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. Catherine is survived by her sons, Thomas B. Davis of Ruther Glen and Norman E. Davis and his wife, Donna, of Warrenton; her sister, Loraine Drake of Princeton, Ill.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several loyal nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, former Spotsylvania County Sheriff, Benjamin W. Davis Jr. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons Matthew, Mark and Jonathan Davis, nephew Charles Davis, Leslie Bullock Jr. and Butch Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, 7203 Poplar St., Annandale, Va. 22003.
