William Morris Kent Sr.

William Morris Kent Sr., 80, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in Winchester.

Mr. Kent was born in 1929 in Milan, Italy, the son of the late Paul Ernst and Beatrice Kent. He was of the Catholic faith. He was employed at the Central Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C., retiring in 1978 after 28 years of service. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Military Police stationed in Osaka, Japan. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. Mr. Kent was a member of the Association of Retired Intelligence Officers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, member of the American Legion and VFW in Winchester, and North and South Carolina.

Mr. Kent married Dorothy Bernadette Martin on May 17, 1952 in New York, NY.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Kent Tlumach and husband Mac of Frederick County; two sons, William "Bill" Kent Jr. and wife Judy of Locust Grove, and Paul Edward Kent and wife Pilar of Fairfax Station; two grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Kent of Richmond, and Marie-Claire R. Kent of Fairfax Station.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester, with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Winchester. Pallbearers will be Bill Kent, Jr., Paul Kent, Ryan Kent and Mac Tlumach.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
