Edmund G. Johnson
Edmund Gilbert Johnson, 81, of Newtown departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, in a Newport News nursing center. He is survived by his three daughters, Tammy Johnson and Angela Johnson, both of Newport News, and Iris Jones of Washington, D.C.; and a son, Gilbert Johnson of California. A viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sparta, with the Rev. J. Beasley, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
