Robert R. Gallahan Sr.

Robert Raymond "Bobby" Gallahan Sr., 73, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Gallahan was retired from General Products and served in the U.S. Army. He also was as a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4123, Moose Lodge 1655 and American Legion Post 290 for 23 years.

Survivors include his children Robert Raymond Gallahan Jr. of Clifton Forge, Michael Lee of Spotsylvania County, Cynthia Dunn and Debra Exline, both of Callao; stepchildren Melissa Gentry and her husband, Michael, Shirley Hall and her husband, John, and Kathy Bowling, all of Spotsylvania; former wife Mary Gallahan of Spotsylvania; his sisters, Muriel Thompson of Spotsylvania and Gerelene Randall of Fredericksburg; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Gallahan also is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Estelle Gallahan, and a sister, Joyce M. Chenault, and a stepson, Lewis Whetzel.

A funeral will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 28, at Covenant Funeral Service, with the Rev. John Edmonds and Von Barron officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Chenault, Ronnie Chenault, Alvin Michniewicz, Ryan Thompson and Michael Gentry.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home.
