Holiday closings Date published: 12/31/2009
The following organizations' schedules will be affected by New Year's Eve and New Year's Day:
GOVERNMENT
All city, state, and federal government offices will be closed today and tomorrow. ABC stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and will be closed tomorrow. TRASH SERVICEThe Belman Road Recycling Center and Stafford Landfill will be open today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Friday and resume normal operations under new weekend hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All trash and recycling pickup scheduled tomorrow will take place today instead. Livingston Landfill in Spotsylvania will close at noon today. LIBRARIESThe Central Rappahannock Regional Library closes at 4 p.m. today; the Culpeper and Orange libraries will close at 5; and the Smoot Library in King George and the Caroline Library will close at 6. All area libraries will be closed Friday. MAIL SERVICESMost post offices in the area will close at noon today and remain closed tomorrow. No delivery except Express Mail. TRANSPORTATIONAll area bus lines will be closed Friday. Virginia Railway Express will operate under an abbreviated schedule today, while FREDericksburg Regional Transit and Quick's Bus Line use regular schedules today.
