Dewitt H. Liptrap

Dewitt H. Liptrap, 90, of Woodford died on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg.

Mr. Liptrap served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the U.S. Navy after World War II. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, Spotsylvania American Legion Post 320 and Disabled American Veterans. He had worked for FMC for 15 years and for the city of Fredericksburg for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Liptrap. He is survived by his sons, Jack W. Carey of Fredericksburg, and Wilson Liptrap of Aylett; and his daughter, Dawn Ray Marsh of Topeka, Kan.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Fellowship Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
