The new Spotsylvania hospital is nearing completion.

NEW SPOTSYLVANIA HOSPITAL IS ON TRACK TO ADMIT ITS FIRST PATIENT ON MAY 24

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center will be ready to open in less than four months.

Tim Tobin, chief executive officer, said last week that the HCA hospital will take its first patient May 24 and host a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 7.

The 126-bed hospital is off Interstate 95 in the Massaponax area.

The extension of Spotsylvania Parkway across the interstate will be the main entrance to the hospital and should be ready in March, Tobin said. Hospital Drive, which connects the property to U.S. 17, is expected to be ready in April.

The hospital has hired many of its executives. It is hiring clinical and support staff now.

More than 150 job openings, for everything from plumbers to pharmacists, are posted on its Web site.
