Elizabeth Throssell

Elizabeth Montgomery "Betty" Throssell, 77, of Stafford County, formerly of Culpeper, passed away at Greenfield Senior Center, in Stafford, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.

Betty was born March 31, 1932, to Samuel Montgomery and Minnie Hayes Montgomery in Elizabethton, Tenn. She served as a Hospice of the Rapidan volunteer; was a member of Mitchells Presbyterian Church; and worked as a medical records technician.

Surviving Betty are her three daughters, Patricia Clapp and her husband, Roger, of Hanover, Karen Rawson and her husband, David, of Fredericksburg, and Carole Marie duBois and her husband, Steven, of Fredericksburg; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Brian Patrick Throssell; and her four brothers, Abraham, Spencer, Ralph and Max Montgomery.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Mitchells Presbyterian Church, 12229 Mitchells Road, Mitchells, Va. 22729, with the Rev. John Grotz officiating. An extended time of fellowship will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Interment will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, in Happy Valley Memorial Park, in Elizabethton, Tenn.
