Agatha Gracik Mason
Agatha Gracik Mason, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 78, of Manassas died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Prince William Hospital, Manassas. Agatha was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Mica, daughter of the late Joseph Jones and Mary Beren Gracik. Her life was devoted to her family. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Manassas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George William Mason Jr.; two sons, Kurt William Mason and Alan Gregory Mason; and nine siblings, Joseph, Helen, Mary, Angela, John, Charles, Lewis, Francis and Christine. Survivors include three children, Larry Wayne Mason of Manassas, Janet Mason Heneghan and husband Michael of Waccabuc, N.Y., and Glen Preston Mason and wife Susan of Fairfax; two sisters, Theresa Venti of Spotsylvania County and Julie Abbott and husband Richard of Richmond; two brothers, Vincent Gracik and wife Beulah of Hartwood and William Gracik and wife Mary of Falmouth; four beloved grandchildren, Deirdre, Caroline, Tara and Kieran; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 8, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Monday at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, with the Rev. Robert C. Cilinski officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Box 8260, Richmond, Va. 23226-0260, in loving memory of Agatha Mason.
