Albert Korngage Sr.
Albert Korngage Sr., 68, of Fredericksburg, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sharon; his mother, Margaret Rzemiski; his children and their spouses, Debra (Don) Mallow Jr., Susan (Jim) Antenucci and Albert Korngage Jr. (Christina Vorbau); and five grandchildren, Brittany Korngage (Cade) Adams, A.J. Korngage, Michael and Alexandra Antenucci and Rachel Mallow. Originally from Lorain, Ohio, Al joined the U.S. Air Force, and then the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C., spending the majority of his 20-year career as a sergeant in the firearms training division, retiring in 1985. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
