Public forum set on watershed property

There's a public forum next week on a draft management plan for Fredericksburg's watershed property.

The session is Feb. 17, 6-8 p.m., at the University of Mary Washington's Jepson Center. Fredericksburg's management plan committee will present recommendations on the plan, which is intended to provide guidance on balancing conservation and recreation on the land.

A draft will be posted by Friday on the Friends of the Rappahannock Web site, riverfriends .org. Online comments will be accepted from Feb. 17 through March 3.

Copies are also available for review at Fredericksburg's planning office, Room 209, City Hall.

The 4,232 acres of riverfront land contained in a conservation easement runs upstream into five jurisdictions.
