If one says that cap-and-trade is necessary ["Cap-and-trade is actually a good idea," Feb. 3] to "solve a complex social problem," one assumes the truth about global warming (climate change) having been caused by man. As a scientist with a Ph.D. in physics, I can say that if I have to use a "trick" to make the data conform to my "theory," then my theory is of very little value. If I "lose" the data so that no one can verify my conclusions, my theory is of even less value. The global warmers/climate changers claim an increase in natural disasters (killer hurricanes, etc.) will occur. Really? When? What happened to all those predictions of these disasters over the last couple of years? Have they not occurred because the Himalayan glaciers have melted? Oh wait, that hasn't happened. Is it because the melting was "predicted" by a master's degree geography student? This year's weather (cold and snow) is very similar to the weather of the 1970s. That is when the coming ice age was predicted! Does anybody remember that one of the proposals was to spread soot on the polar ice cap so that the increased absorption of sunlight would hasten the melting and prevent the ice age? What would have been the consequences if that scheme had actually taken place? Is anyone aware that one of the global warmers/climate changers has proposed putting tiny mirrors in orbit to reflect the sunlight and reduce the amount hitting the Earth? Has anyone heard about the Law of Unintended Consequences? The arrogance of these "scientists" is stunning. Most scientific theories are argued about for decades before they become "settled science." We were just as sure about the coming ice age in the '70s as we are now about the man-caused global warming/climate change. Cap-and-trade would be another man-caused disaster." Richard A. Lorey King George
It is very difficult to see pictures of the melting polar ice cap and the extinction of polar bears and deny there is a problem. The same with pollution - the argument for years was that we were not responsible for that either. This is not a political issue - it is a right to life issue. The GOP claims to be the party that supports life, but they certainly don't support this right to life issue.
Stop taking down my posts or not putting them up, whichever it is. I'm going to have to stop commenting here because every time I put up posts that refute other's claims they never get put or taken down. Really "liberal" main stream media, eh fellas? Bunch of horse !@#$...
NO do-overs.
When bribes are being taken from those on both sides of the
issue? All I'm saying is when it's over, it's over. Do do-overs
and without a doubt the clueless folks obstructing progress
now will be the same ones crying, "Why didn't someone fix it
when they could?" Good luck and good night.
It should be easy! All you have to do is get the "scientists " to show how their data and research is good stuff. 25 years?? What do you know, that the "scientists" don't know?
