Trust Hansen, not Pat Robertson, on warming

Jeremy Symons' Feb. 18 op-ed ["Despite 50-plus inches, no ice age is here"] was refreshing. I share Mr. Symons' concerns over Pat Robertson-style global warming research, and I offer a helpful alternative in understanding this international health care issue.

Those truly concerned and frustrated about "global warming" should find solace after reading "Censoring Science: Inside the Political Attack on Dr. James Hansen and the Truth of Global Warming," by Mark Bowen.

The book's explanations of our government's extreme efforts to distort solid science presents real science by a renowned spokesperson, and provides his solution as well as discussion of dysfunctional "cap and trade."

Even die-hard skeptics will become winners by backing this nation's current efforts to create a U.S. "green" industry. Conveyor belts of "green" money to Chinese coal-fired industrial complexes neither alleviate U.S. economic problems nor take pollution from the air that returns only soot, acid rain, and lung pollution after crossing the Pacific.

Be stewards for your family and the Earth by reading solid science rather than becoming captivated, then frustrated, by conflicting part-time scientists lacking the credentials of Dr. Hansen.

peer review? (posted by cassandra&sarasdaddy , Mar. 13, 2010 2:39 am)    0 likes
then how did the caca about the himylayan glaciers make it through the review? heck the guy who wrote the report said he brought the errors to folks attention and they sat on it The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders. Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

I no longer have an opinion on climate change (posted by Guderian , Mar. 12, 2010 6:38 pm)    0 likes

of course there's "peer review" and "PEER REVIEW". and everyone knows that all those climate guys are in cahoots and review each other's work with a wink an a nudge. if this spreads.. if these evil science types ever move into the other sciences - we could be in deep deep trouble because then we won't be able to believe any of them. we'll know when it happens.. they always email each other first.

AtackDuck- There IS independent review. Do you EVER check? (posted by kspecial , Mar. 12, 2010 3:54 pm)    0 likes

how come there's not a tsunami-gate scandal (posted by larryg , Mar. 12, 2010 1:58 pm)    0 likes
when the scientists say a big wave is headed for Hawaii and everyone runs to high ground and nothing happens? Do you think these guys had an "agenda" to get more grant money ? this sounds oh so much like the folks that say GM knows how to build an engine that gets 200 mpg but they're in cahoots with the oil companies to pay them to keep it a secret. Oh.. and then they charge us more for gasoline so they can bribe GM to keep quiet.
