Jerome E. Sale
Jerome Earl Sale, 74, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Richmond. Mr. Sale was a native of Fredericksburg and resided in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. He was a 1954 graduate of James Monroe High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He loved the beach, making furniture, and restoring his antique car. Mr. Sale was also an avid Civil War relic collector. He was also a member of the National Guard Reserves. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Robinson Sale, of Fredericksburg; his daughter, Cindy Sale Stevens, of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; his son, Jeffrey Jerome Sale and his wife, Lesley, of Fredericksburg; three stepchildren, Kevin Hamrick of Fredericksburg, Kathy Hamrick and her husband, Garey Stangel, of Fredericksburg, and Keith Hamrick and his wife, Jennifer Lovrak, of California; his sister, Marlene Rose Sale, of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Colby Sale and his wife, Abbey, and Landon Sale; three step-grandchildren, Kirsten Hamrick, Obie Lovrak-Hamrick and Jonah Lovrak-Brenner; and the mother of his children, Joan Bell Sale. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at Round Oak Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Randy Thomas, Daniel Riley, Mike Laskowski, John Carneal Jr., Samuel Robinson and Richard Crickenberger. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald R. Sullivan, Carol Markham, Charles Leonard and Zane Schoen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
