Marine Corps 1st Lt. W. Zeph Crittenden graduated from helicopter flight training at Whiting Field, Fla. Crittenden graduated first in his class and was awarded a certificate of commendation and placed on the Commodore's Honor Roll.

He will fly the Ch-53E helicopter, the largest helicopter in the free world, and will be stationed in North Carolina. He is the son of Lt. Col. Steven Crittenden and Lt. Col. Ann Crittenden, both retired Marines residing in Stafford, and is a 2003 graduate of Colonial Forge High School and a 2007 graduate of Christopher Newport University,

Air Force Airman Mavis O. Jones graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas She is the daughter of Michael and Shelly Stafford of Stafford and is a 2007 graduate of Brooke Point High School.

Army Pfc. Mohammad A. Bihamta graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Okla. He is the son of Reza Bihamta of Alexandria and the nephew of David Decatur of Stafford, and is a 2002 graduate of Colonial Forge High School.

The Army National Guard's Brady Pearce graduated from basic training at Fort Sill, Okla., and is now at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., for interior electrical training. He is the son of Sandy and Rick Pearce of Stafford, a 2007 graduate of Stafford High School, and had been attending Radford University.
