Senior Visitors program volunteers visit elderly residents, many of whom would live in relative isolation otherwise. |
National Volunteer Week (April 18-24) honors individuals who take the time to make positive changes in the community.
This is the perfect time to thank those volunteers who answer the call to action and make contributions.
This year, Volunteer Services at the Rappahannock United Way connected more than 7,500 volunteers with nonprofit organizations in our community.
Volunteers offered more than 155,302 hours of service to those in need. Volunteers have donated more than $3.4 million in time to our community.
More than a quarter of our nation's population does volunteer work, making volunteers an irreplaceable asset to our country.
So during National Volunteer Week, let's take a moment to shine the spotlight on those individuals in our community who give so selflessly in order to make a positive impact on our surroundings.
To learn more about how to volunteer to make our community a better place to live, contact the Rappahannock United Way.
