'Who wants pizza?' The Golden Knights--the Army parachute team--gets a jump on things at Andrews AFB.

This weekend offers an event that is low on travel expenses but sky high on thrills and fun.

The 2010 Joint Service Open House will be held Friday through Sunday at Andrews Air Force Base, offering enough heart-stopping patriotic air power to impress all visitors. The event is open only to Department of Defense ID card holders and prearranged school groups on Friday, and is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free.

Highlights of the event include the Blue Angels, the Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron and the Golden Knights, the Army parachute team.

Static displays include the Navy MH-53 Sea Dragon, Marine AH-1W Super Cobra and Air Force F-15/F-15E Eagle and numerous vintage military aircraft.

There will be flight demos of the F-16 Falcon, P-51 Mustang, F-22 Raptor, AV-8B Harrier, C-17 Globemaster and F/A-18 Tac. Other events include Team Oracle stunt flying; Sky Soldiers combat helicopter demonstration team; Geico Skytypers, featuring six vintage World War II airplanes performing precision flight maneuvers; "Red Star and the Dragon," an intense civilian jet air show act; the Air Force Air Heritage Flight, presenting the evolution of USAF air power by flying state-of-the-art fighter aircraft in close formation with vintage fighter aircraft; and more.

Guests can park at FedEx Field, where shuttle buses will provide transportation to Andrews. Shuttle buses running to Andrews will stop at 2:30 p.m. Shuttle buses running from Andrews back to either FedEx Field or Branch Avenue Metro will continue until all attendees have been transported off the flightline.
