Specifically, I would like to thank Van and Debra Perroy, owners of Fredericksburg Square, for their generosity and hospitality in hosting us for a lovely evening.
The event raised a respectable $55,000, which was matched, dollar for dollar, by Doris Buffett for a total yield of $110,000.
These dollars will remain in our community to help neighbors and friends during times of financial crisis.
The Barbara C. Terry Emergency Assistance Fund, maintained by RUW, focuses on helping families who do not qualify for other community-based services and who are facing economic crisis for the first time.
This one-of-a-kind fund provides emergency assistance to struggling households, helping families meet the needs for housing, food, utilities, and transportation.
To all who contributed to the evening's success and to any future contributor, please accept my sincere appreciation for your role in helping Rappahannock United Way fulfill its mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
