Date published: 7/30/2010 Helen Thayer Helen Thayer, 97, of King George County died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. A lifelong resident of King George, Mrs. Thayer was a homemaker and former co-owner of a country store in the county with her husband, the late James P. Thayer Sr. She was a former member of Oakland Baptist Church of King George. The Thayers were married for 77 years. Survivors include her son, James P. Thayer Jr. and wife Amy of King George, who were her caregivers. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Meadow-Brooke Memorial Gardens in King George.
