I was amused by a recent letter ["Wittman? No way," July 9] that criticized Rep. Rob Wittman for his votes against government spending. With America flirting with economic collapse as we suffocate under trillions of dollars of debt, this letter takes issue with Rep. Wittman for voting against bills that would spend money we do not have and put us more into debt. The writer thinks voting to rein in federal spending is a bad thing. What planet is this person living on? It is time for people to wake up to reality. The Congress is spending trillions of dollars more than it has in revenues. The math is simple: We cannot keep doing this or we will collapse, and this implosion will make Greece's troubles seem like child's play. Rep. Wittman is doing the right thing by holding the line on spending, and most of America is beginning to see the light. We cannot keep spending like some teenager with his first credit card, and Rep. Wittman gets this. Those who have issues with his efforts to hold the line on spending either cannot do the math or refuse to acknowledge reality. The days of spend, spend, spend must end! (1) How many bills has Wittman sponsored or cosponsored? Answer: VERY FEW (2) How many have become law? EVEN FEWER. Legislators legislate! So if you vote NO on other members bills and you don't have any (or very few) of your own what are you doing? What is your legislative efficiency? What bills has he supported?
Stand up and say "NO!", or bend over and take it? Given the choice, I pick the former. We're about sick and tired of politicians from both sides of the aisle sneaking around and dumping crap in bills that they don't want anyone to see. You want to pick a side and blame the other for everything? Go on ahead and do that. I hope you feel better. Deep down inside, you know the difference between right and wrong. When someone tries to something you know is wrong, you act like a man, stand up, and say "NO!"
It takes ZERO effort to say NO to everything.
SUCH CLASS ACTS......Why are so many Democrates having to back down from appointments because of tax skeletons in their closets??? Ok..not faid to name onlr democrates...but they seem to be leading the way !!!
