Craigslist robbery suspects arrested Date published: 8/14/2010
BY KEITH EPPS Three young Stafford men charged with luring potential robbery victims through an online classified advertising service are in custody. The two victims both responded to ads on Craigslist on July 18, Stafford Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said. Both incidents occurred just a few hundred yards from the Sheriff's Office and took place about 30 minutes apart. A 40-year-old Ruther Glen man came to the courthouse with his wife that evening, hoping to buy a PlayStation 3 he'd found on Craigslist. During e-mail exchanges, police said, he and the seller had agreed on a meeting place. After arriving at the courthouse, the victim got another e-mail directing him to nearby Red Oak Drive. Instead of buying a Play-Station, the Ruther Glen man had a bottle swung at him by one of the three young men who met him there. The man went straight to the Sheriff's Office and reported the incident. That victim was still talking to police when a 22-year-old Dumfries man came to the same area in response to another Craigslist ad, this one for an iPhone. He was discussing the price with the three suspects when one of them punched him in the face. The victim ran to the Sheriff's Office with the suspects in pursuit. They stopped chasing the victim as he neared the office. Deputy Brandon Morris' investigation resulted in the arrests of Rashad Jamar Lightfoot, 19, Jarren Arees Fields, 20, and Adrian Marquelle Clark, 20. Lightfoot and Clark are charged with two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of conspiracy, attempted assault by mob and malicious wounding. They are being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Fields is charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy and attempted malicious wounding. He is being held under a $15,000 bond. I have a good kid (9 out of 572 in class) straight A's all year... NO pending police charges, NO arrests - ever, and she hasn't ATTACKED someone, well, lets say NEVER! I don't care if your 'good kid' did the attack or not. Being A PART of the PROBLEM is a bad kid. Hope he gets the maximum FELONY ASSUALT sentence possible! Wake up!
There's a lot more to a photo than skin colour. You betray your own shallow racist view.
By the way, how exactly do you know what my skin colour is? Do I talk "white"? If yes, please explain what that is exactly since I don't know.
I am related to one of these guys and he is a good kid that
got mixed up with the wrong bunch. Though he was there, he
made no attempt to injure anyone. But having any part in any
crime is a bad decision, especially one next to the sheriff's
dept. Though these acts suggest otherwise, he's not a thug
and has never been in trouble before. Our family is remorsful
and is praying for a second chance at life for this young man.
I agree, craigslist should require people to carry guns when buying something on craigslist. Police can't be everywhere and it hurts craigslist's image if people are getting robbed when buying from their website. Now on when I buy or sell anything on craigslist, I'll be packing heat.
Fake photes are posted all the time and trust me, there are thieves in all races! Take a course, purchase a gun and be wise of whom you are dealing with.
