King George High School may have an interim principal for the entire 2010-11 school year, Superintendent Candace Brown said recently.

Brown said she hopes Joe Pociask, who recently started the temporary job, will stay for the school year, but she said he has "some other commitments that he has to consider."

The division is paying him $351 a day, Brown said.

Pociask retired as King George High's principal in 2005. He agreed to come back after Todd Satterwhite resigned from the job earlier this month.

King George County schools open next Tuesday.

"We would love for him to be here the entire year if possible," Brown said of Pociask.

She said she wants to have a full-time principal for the 2011-12 school year. The division may wait until late winter to advertise the job, she said.

King George High's administration has experienced a lot of turnover this month.

Ann Bueche started as an assistant principal last week, Brown said. She's a King George resident and was an assistant principal at North Stafford High School.

Bueche replaced Rob Marchetti, who left to become an assistant principal at Massaponax High School in Spotsylvania County.

Jennifer Collins, the division's former director of testing, became an assistant principal at the high school earlier this month. She replaced Holly Wargo, who resigned this month after the School Board reassigned her to Collins' previous position in the central office.

Clifton Conway is King George High's only returning assistant principal.

Brown said she and Pociask met with school employees last week.

"Everything seems to be in place," she said. "Everybody seems ready to go."
