Visiting Osbourn had a couple of huge advantages in its matchup with Brooke Point last night.

The most obvious one was senior Dominique Terrell, who shredded the Black-Hawks for 218 rushing yards and four touchdowns in a 42-21 nondistrict victory.

The Eagles' other edge was a comfort zone gained from having a game under their belts. Osbourn opened its season last Friday with a 56-32 romp over Forest Park, while the Black-Hawks were making their season debut last night.

It showed, as Brooke Point made a slew of mistakes in falling behind 26-0 at halftime.

"You could tell early on that someone had played a game and someone hadn't," Brooke Point coach Jeff Berry said. "We did a lot of things to shoot ourselves in the foot."

That included an interception on a fake punt; a snap over punter Josh West's head that resulted in a safety; and an interception of a screen pass by Osbourn's Dimitri Mack in the Brooke Point end zone for a touchdown.

It was too much for the Black-Hawks to overcome, although they did make things interesting with three touchdown passes by junior quarterback Zach Deutel in the second half. He hit Billy Gonzalez from 45 yards out, Mike Ford from 3 and Tyus White from 42.

Still, even Berry admitted that "I don't know if we were ever going to stop No. 2 [Terrell]."

Said Osbourn coach Steve Schultze: "He's got that 'it' factor."

Brooke Point visits Freedom next Friday.
