Martha Jeanette "Nettie" Skidmore Jarvis, 87, of King George County went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Nettie worked for Virginia Shoe Co. in Fredericksburg and was truly loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Delores Abney and her husband, Glenn, Steven Samuel Skidmore Jr. and his wife, Jean, and Bernard Jarvis; her sister Ruby Caldwell; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Steven Samuel Skidmore; her second husband, Virgil E. Jarvis; her parents, Clem J. and Nellie Mae Morgan; her sister Lillian P. Houck; and four brothers, Raymond H. Morgan, Minor W. Morgan, Alfred O. Morgan and Joseph W. Morgan.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Willis A. Dempsey, the Rev. Brent Vickery and the Rev. Paige Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Potomac Baptist Church cemetery in King George.
The family will have visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home.
